MT Beer Crate (empty)

These are standard milk crates produced primarily for the dairy industry and so are of an industry standard size with external dimensions 453 x 355 x 243 mm and the internal compartment size is 85 mm square.  They are nevertheless particularly useful as a beer crate for homebrewers because two full crates will exactly take the 40 500 ml bottles needed for a standard brew.

To give you some idea Kopperberg Cider bottles fit perfectly into these crates but Magners Cider bottles are too tall. It isn’t necessarily a problem if the bottles are too tall providing that they aren’t stacked more than 2 or 3 crates high. When the bottles do fit the crates can be stacked 7 crates high.

We are able to supply brand new glass bottles that fit these crates perfectly and allow stacking.  Pre-used bottles (clean and de-labelled) are sometimes available  (please enquire)
